Multicultural Club

The Multicultural Club is a group of students of varying backgrounds and viewpoints who come together every week to discuss issues of the world today and to promote understanding and tolerance. Discussion topics are chosen by multicultural club members and include different cultural and traditional histories, such as Hanukkah, Eid, Kwanzaa, wedding traditions, and medieval history. Although the Multicultural Club involves in its discussions controversial topics, its members are encouraged to address the topics from an objective standpoint and to look at each issue from someone else’s viewpoint to further understanding of one another. The multicultural club participates in multiple activities, such as attending plays and movies, going to historical and cultural events and workshops, and inviting guests and panels to do presentations about their heritages. Exchange students and ESL students also make presentations throughout the year.
