Tanner King and Darby Burgess have been elected to the Alabama State Thespian Student Board to represent Florence High School along with Mrs. Dalrymple on the Alabama Educational Theatre Association.

Oh What a Trip!!!!!!

FHS Theatre had a great 4 days at the Southeastern Theatre Conference in Lexington, Kentucky.  Four students travelled to take workshops, audition for scholarships, represent Alabama, and be entertained by world class talent. Three seniors auditioned for a panel of colleges and universities. Christie Connolly received 26 callbacks from numerous colleges and performing arts conservatories, Drey Mitchell received 23, and Alexandria Bates received 18.  Alex also represented the state of Alabama on the Keynote Emerging Artists of Promise panel that received a free trip to the conference.  Jamie Connolly travelled as a representative of the Freshman Center.  She attended 10 workshops and enjoyed a Keynote Address from Broadway star Titus Burgess.  The entire group attended a concert featuring Tutus Burgess ("The Little Mermaid" and "Guys and Dolls").  The students saw 15 shows from high schools across the South. Please congratulate these students on a job well done.
