FCCLA…Family, Careers, and Community Leaders of America

FCCLA

The FCCLA meets the first Tuesday of every month in the library at 3:15.  The FCCLA (Family, Career, & Community Leaders of America) is the student organization for students enrolled in Family & Consumer Sciences and the newly implemented Hospitality, Tourism, and Culinary courses.  The goal of the Florence High School FCCLA is to help students become more productive and contributing citizens in today’s homes and society.  Two community service projects are conducted each year along with year long fun activities for the students.  FCCLA also competes in the State STAR Events (Students Taking Action in Recognition).  This past spring, 2008, five students took top state honors in Culinary and Illustrated Talk.  These students represented the state in the National STAR Events in Orlando this past July taking Bronze and Gold medals, respectively.  FCCLA Students are encouraged to participate in the STAR Events for 2009.
